Our Wines

Red Heifer Winery represents 56 acres at the crest of the property formerly known as the Naylor Peach Orchard. The sloping hillside with a southeast orientation is the perfect location for growing grapes.What makes Red Heifer Winery unique is the climate in Smithsburg, Maryland. Situated at an elevation of 1,500 feet, the grapes in our vineyard enjoy warm summer days with cool summer nights and a constant breeze.

DRY REDS

Blaufrankisch | SOLD OUT

Known as the Hungarian Pinot, this dry red smells of autumn leaves with a palate of raspberry.

Blueberry, 2023

A semi-sweet blueberry wine. Best in Class Comptroller's Cup and Gold medal Comptroller's Cup 2019.

Sweet Heifer, 2023

Sweet Concord grapes with a jam finish. This red wine features prominent grape flavor with a smooth mouth feel.

DRY WHITES

Albarino, 2024

Aromas of nectarine and pomelo with refreshing notes of lemon and apricot on the tongue. Balanced with a slight salinity finish.

Blanc de Franc, 2021

Cabernet Franc grapes pressed upon harvest to create a delicious white wine from red grapes.

Winemaker's Reserve Chardonel, 2020

Beautifully aged in French oak with lively notes of coconut and vanilla.

Vidal Blanc, 2023

Crisp full-bodied dry white wine with citrus and green apple notes. Bronze medal MD Governor's Cup.

Semi-sweet Vidal Blanc (3% residual sugar) with a slightly peach flavor.

Peach, 2024

A medley of Smithsburg grown peaches pitted, pressed, and perfectly sweetened to 6% residual sugar.

Spiced Wine, 2024

White wine spiced with cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and citrus. It is best served warm.
