Red Heifer Winery is proud to feature award winning dry and sweet wines. Our flight menu features at least 8 dry and sweet wine options. Flights include 4 3-ounce pours of your choice.
We are an outdoor only venue. We are happy to host walk-up guests on our expansive patio.

ALL GUESTS MUST BE 21+. ADULTS ONLY. CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THE WINERY.

HOUSE RULES

PETS. Friendly pets on leashes are welcomed in the parking, patio, and winery lawn areas. Pets are not permitted below and within the vineyard, igloos, or cabanas. Pets must be supervised at all times.

ADULTS ONLY. We cannot accommodate underage guests. Children are not permitted at Red Heifer Winery.

BRING FOOD. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the outdoor patio. We request that whatever is carried in is carried out.

BUY FOOD. We serve a variety of sizes of charcuterie boards, as well as salads, paninis, and other snack items on our MENU.

SEATING. Tables and chairs on the patio may not be moved. We have ample seating for groups of 2, 4, and 6 without reservation.

Absolutely no alcohol, other than what is manufactured by Red Heifer Winery, is permitted on the premises as per Maryland law.

We reserve the right to deny service to anyone.

Please be mindful of our neighbors who live on our shared farm lane.

Our vineyard and winery is an agricultural operation that may include uneven surfaces and terrain and we will do our best to provide reasonable accommodations to our customers with disabilities.

GROUPS. GROUPS are parties of 7 individuals and over. Groups are required to provide advance notice of their arrival and must receive confirmation in advance of their visit.

All limo and bus visitors require advance reservations by emailing yvonne@redheiferwinery.com and advance payment must be made at the group rate.

At this time Red Heifer Winery does not host weddings.
RESERVE A CABANA Cabanas are available for booking! Enjoy the mountain view in your own private Cabana! Each Cabana can accommodate up to 6 people and features plush comfortable seating and table service in an open air setting. There is both a rental fee ($20, paid upon booking) and a food and beverage minimum. Minimum purchase is $25.00 per person in the party + 18% gratuity. All guests must be 21+.

In the event of rain in the forecast, Red Heifer Winery will contact you the morning of your appointment to reschedule or offer an in store credit. Cabanas are open air and are not heated or cooled.

RESERVE The vineyard pergola The Vineyard Pergola offers farmhouse table seating for parties up to 12. When booking indicate the number of guests in the comment box. This experience offers private use of our covered pergola overlooking the vineyard, music stage, and the Catoctin Mountains. Decorations are permitted or ask us about our tablescape and place setting options. There is both a rental fee ($50, paid upon booking) and a food and beverage minimum. Minimum purchase is $35.00 per person in the party + 18% gratuity. All guests must be 21+.

No pets, smoking or vaping, or decorations that include glitter, confetti, tape, or pushpins.

We offer optional full service decor including: tablescape, runner, place mats, gold silverware, and florals at $10 per guest. ​​

RESERVE AN IGLOO Enjoy the winery experience in your own private heated igloo! Each igloo can accommodate up to 6 people. There is both a rental fee ($35, paid upon booking) and a food and beverage minimum. Minimum purchase is $40.00 per person in the party + 18% gratuity. Reservations are 2.5 hours. Igloos are treated with a UV and ozone generator and surfaces are sanitized between reservations. We recommend dressing in layers. All guests must be 21+.
Additionally, violating these terms ends the reservation without refund and may include additional charges:

No children, pets, smoking/vaping, or other alcohol is permitted.

No glitter, confetti, or items tied/taped to the Igloo or the furnishings. Any damaged or missing items on or from the Igloo will be billed to the guest making the reservation.

Groups larger than 6 will be turned away.

Your attendant will clear plates, wine glasses, ice tins, and empty bottles. A service charge will be applied if other items are left or if the igloo is not in acceptable condition. In the event of inclement weather that closes the winery, a reschedule opportunity will be offered.

Red Heifer Winery is a proud member of the Maryland Wineries Association. The MWA hosts multiple wine trails over the state, including the Antietam Highlands Wine Trail. Visit MarylandWine.com for information on other wineries near and far from Red Heifer.
​Smithsburg is rich with agritourism including orchards, pumpkin, blueberry, and strawberry patches including: Mountain Valley Orchard, Ivy Hill Farm, and Rinehart Orchards. Enjoy a scoop of ice cream or wine sorbet at Misty Meadow Farm Creamery. Visit our local potter Mark Poole Pottery.
Plan a day hike at Catoctin Mountain Park, Cunningham Falls, or along the Appalachian Trail all just minutes from the winery. Spend the day at Ski Liberty, less than 15 minutes away. Or venture across the county and visit historic Antietam Battlefield or walk or bike the C&O Canal.
